The 1873 Architect's Inn - Newport, Rhode IslandWe stayed at the 1873 Architect's Inn in Newport during the last week of August 2006. The Inn exceeded our expectations. As the name implies, the Inn was the home of a noted Architect of the period. It is immaculately restored and kept throughout. It is located on a quiet residential street. It is a little further away from the waterfront and dining so you might end up driving.
We stayed in the suite. Our bedroom was large with a comfortable king sized bed. Our son stayed in the next room. The connecting hallway is private. The bathroom was exceptionally large with a clawfoot tub and a shower. Our innkeeper had a lot of great tips about dining, seeing the mansions and the town in general. Overall we'd rate the 1873 Architect's Inn as Excellent and hope to visit again soon.
