The Mooring in Newport, RI - Dining Review

The Mooring is located right on the waterfront overlooking the Newport Harbor. It was recently remodeled when we visited. We had a choice between eating in the enclosed patio with a good view of the harbor or the main dining room. We opted for the main dining room and still had a decent view of the harbor. The atmosphere is fairly casual. A lot  of boaters were eating there in their shorts and docksiders. The atmosphere is geared toward families and friends getting together for dinner.

The menu includes a selection of fresh seafood, delicacies from the raw bar, meat and fowl. Entrees for dinner begin at about $20. However, you can try one of their delicious sandwiches if you are looking for lighter fare. The desserts start at about $7. You can also enjoy their cappuccino or coffee drinks.

They have an extensive wine list to compliment your dinner.

The service and food were great and they are very child friendly.

As with any of the restaurants in the area, finding parking can be a challenge during the busy season.
