Yesterday's Ale House - Dining ReviewAug 2006 Yesterday's Ale House is on Washington Square just a short walk from Thames Street and the waterfront. It is a typical Ale House / Pub but one with an upscale wine bar included. The wine bar offers entrees such as Roasted and Grilled Duck with Chiptole-Cherry Barbecue Sauce. The atmosphere in the wine bar is a little brighter than the main ale house. The Main Bar area is a bit darker and a lot more intimate. Much of the seating is booths. We stopped in for a late afternoon lunch. We were greeted and seated promptly. The sandwiches are not plain bar sandwiches. You'll find goat cheese, mesclun greens and other interesting combinations. The Sandwiches are from $8 to $10, Desserts are very reasonably priced such as a Walnut Brownie Sunday for $4.25. Entrees run from about $10 to $15. Overall we found Yesterday's to be a great place to eat.
